I am a licensed funeral director and embalmer living in Sacramento, CA. I hold two part-time jobs: one as a funeral director at a funeral home and the other as an asst. museum scientist for UC Davis donated body program. I am also a full-time student attending the American River College funeral science program. I am very interested in learning as much as I can about anatomy and physiology. My focus is changing from working within the funeral industry to focusing on various processes and procedures for harvesting and preserving specimens for the purpose of education and research. I am very interested in exploring the techniques of plastination...a process that originated in Germany and preserves specimens indefinitely. I consider this type of work not only educational and scientific in it's purpose but artful in it's representation of the body and the various organs and biological systems that comprise it.
